Our clients tend to be privately owned unlisted businesses with a future, typically looking for funding in the £75,000 to £5 million range, too small for the City – too much for friends and family but appropriate for Venture Capital and business angel investment. Because our Business Angels have very diverse interests, we look at all sectors and all stages, from start up to rescue finance to outright sale.
Our Business Angels accept and understand the risks and rewards of investing in smaller companies. They want growth so are prepared to look at early stage businesses and to add their skills and experience to help make that growth happen.
You need to know, quickly, whether or not your project or business will attract capital. That saves time for everyone. There are 5 basic questions we need to ask
- From your track record, can you demonstrate an ability to turn someone else’s money into profit?
- Have you a clear idea of where you want to take the business, and how?
- How do you justify the value you are placing on the business today?
- How much do you really need, when and why?
- What sort of investor do you want and is there a role for him?
